Compatibility:

The STEP 7-Micro/WIN V4.0 Service Pack 6 is fully compatible with all Simatic S7-200 CPUs (CPU21x and 22x)

Programs created with earlier versions of STEP 7-Micro/WIN V3.x or V4.x can be opened and further processed without any restrictions.

Projects created with STEP 7-Micro/WIN version 2.x or older, must first be saved with Micro/WIN V2.x in the STL editor, before they can be opened with STEP 7-Micro/WIN V3.x or V4.x. For this reason the STEP 7-Micro/WIN V2.1 software is included in a sub-directory of the installation CD.

Projects created with STEP 7-Micro/WIN V4.0 Service Pack 6 can be neither opened nor uploaded with older versions.

Installation:

The prerequisite for installation of the STEP 7-Micro/WIN V4.0 Service Pack 6 (SP6) is an installed and running earlier version of STEP 7-Micro/WIN V4.0 on your PG or PC.
After you have downloaded the file STEP7-MicroWIN_V40_SP6.exe start the installation by double-clicking the file.
Step 1: Uninstall the older version of STEP 7-Micro/WIN V4.0 by means of the Windows control panel.
Step 2: Cold restart the computer
Step 3: Install the STEP 7-Micro/WIN V4.0 Service Pack (SP6) by again double clicking the file STEP7-MicroWIN_V40_SP6.exe.

Please follow the prompts that will come up during the installation.

Following the introduction of the new SP6 for STEP7 Micro/WIN V4.0, there will also be new Service Packs for:

+ S7-200 Explorer
+ TD Keypad Designer

Both programs are a free constituent of STEP 7-Micro/WIN V4.0 and will automatically be upgraded when you install the new SP6.

Installation of the new Service Pack 6 for STEP 7-Micro/WIN V4.0 will automatically upgrade the installed STEP 7-Micro/WIN Command Library .
The STEP 7-Micro/WIN Command Library (order no.: 6ES7 830-2BC00-0YX0) is an option package for STEP 7-Micro/WIN and available at a charge.
